Ireland FA at Bisham Abbey

Bisham Abbey was proud to host an under 19’s Ireland FA training camp earlier this month the

squad of 30 came as part of their preparations for the UEFA U-19 elite stage qualifiers in Ukraine.

The group spent five days at the purpose-built training facility to begin working towards the qualifiers which take place from May 26-31. Ireland's route to the finals in France this July is a daunting one as they face both of last season's finalists in their group.

McCaffrey revealed he was treating the training camp as a vital window in which to work on tactics and formations for the games at the tail-end of the club season.
"We will set out a series of team and individual training sessions with the players over these five days," he says.

"The time at Bisham Abbey will enable the management team of myself, Tommy Connolly and Declan McIntyre to practice particular aspects of play with the individual players of the squad.

The boys came for a full weeks training on the pitches with full board catering and accommodation, the team was a delight to host from start to finish and we wish them all the luck of the Irish when they play later this month against Arsenals youth team at their training ground!
