Belgium Hockey Team Vs Great Britain at Bisham Abbey
Bisham Abbey played host to the Belgium Hockey team this month. The 30 strong team stayed the best part of a week onsite, undergoing intensive training sessions throughout and taking advantage of the fantastic full board facilities at Bisham Abbey.
On their final day at Bisham the Belgium team ended their stay with a friendly match against the resident GB team. The Belgium’s looked really strong and there is no doubt to the player’s physical fitness levels, the whole team was simmering with energy and enthusiasm.
The Belgium’s fought a good fight but despite their training sessions they proved to be no match for the resident team and they went away with a few bruised limbs…and egos! Despite this the lads took it all in their stride and it was handshakes all round with great sportsmanship and they seemed in good spirits as they made their way home. We look forward to welcoming back in the future and are sure they will put up as much fight the second time round!
